Fundraising show for sloop foundation
An art show will raise funds to support a sail training programme for public middle-school pupils.
The Spirit of the Ocean show, organised by the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, opened yesterday at the Masterworks art gallery in the Botanical Gardens, Paget, and will run until June 28.
The artwork on display, from professional and amateur artists, will be auctioned to raise cash.
The Bermuda Sloop Foundation offers public middle school pupils the chance to spend five days and four nights on The Spirit of Bermuda tall ship.
A spokeswoman for the charity said: “Community support is important to the success of our sail training programme.”
