Students from the Mirrors Community Programme have departed for its first overseas SuperCamp at Stanford University in California.

The 22 campers will be coached in leadership skills, confidence, academics and motivation as part of their nine-month personal development.

Mirrors leaders said the camp gives them the chance for “international travel, networking with students from other countries, and exposure to a university campus”.

The SuperCamp at Stanford University is being run by Quantum Learning Network, helped by Jeanene Todd, the programme manager of Mirrors, and Khalid Davis of CedarBridge Academy.

Kimberley Jackson, a programme manager of Mirrors, said: “We are excited about this new focus as we plan on driving home the peer influence perspective through peer mentorship as these students get to work with the global community at a SuperCamp.”

The departing students were bid farewell by Kathy Lynn Simmons, the Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs.
