Queen of Bermuda hosting lip-sync battle event

Performers from across the island will take part in a lip-sync battle hosted by the “Queen of Bermuda”.Mark Anderson said people from Sandys to St George’s were on the bill for the contest next week, with a $1,000 prize for the best act.Mr Anderson, also known as Sybil Barrington, the Queen of Bermuda, said: “I felt as though I wanted it to be more of an inclusive community event where everyone can enjoy each other.”He added: “Everybody is a star in their own right.“It’s all about coming together, being together and performing together.“I think with this night you’re going to see a lot of amazing talent.“Two of the contestants are husband and wife — they’re not telling each other what they’re doing.”Mr Anderson said that the acts would represent their parish and they will be judged on presentation, as well as their appearance and creativity.The event will be hosted by Sybil, who will also perform, and she will be joined by the “heavyweight champion of comedy” Sugga Pie Koko, from New York.Bermuda’s Lip Sync Idol will be held in the Earl Cameron Theatre at Hamilton City Hall on December 28.
