The Ministry of Public Works released the garbage and recycling collection schedule for April today.Garbage and recyclables scheduled to take place on Good Friday, April 10, will be collected the following Saturday.Recyclable collection for the western parishes will be collected every other Thursday starting April 9.Eastern parishes will have their recyclables collected on April 11 and April 24.Garbage collection will begin tomorrow in Pembroke and most of Paget and continue east for the remainder of the week.Regular garbage collection will start on April 6 in Sandys and most of Southampton and continue east through the week.A spokesman for the Department of Public Works advised public is advised to store bagged garbage at their residence in lidded bins to avoid rats.Lidded bins or sealed plastic bags should be moved curb side for collection on the day of trash collection.Do not use paper bags or boxes as they may fall apart.
