Kerbside collection services from stores and restaurants in Hamilton will end tomorrow, the City of Hamilton has announced.

The service allowed businesses to continue to cater to customers while their stores were shuttered over the shelter-in-place regulations and the first stages of a return to normal life.

Businesses that took advantage of the kerbside service were asked to return the cones used to mark out stopping spaces for customers by the end of the month.

The cones will be accepted between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, at the city’s works depot on Laffan Street. Customers will be asked to sign a document as proof of return.

Businesses will be charged $50 a cone if they are not returned by the deadline.

Any cones left on city streets after June 30 will be collected by City of Hamilton staff. The parking regulations suspension for kerbside service will also end on June 30. The public was also reminded that free parking in the city will also end.
