A mini-submarine with a camera was used in the latest searches for a missing mother, police said yesterday.Police said that activity in and around Warwick Pond was part of the work to find Chavelle Dillon-Burgess.It has been almost four months since the young woman was last in contact with friends or family. Detective Sergeant Jason Smith, of the Serious Crime Division, said yesterday: “Our most recent search of Warwick Pond included the use of a submersible device outfitted with a camera.“The areas of the pond inaccessible to the submersible were reached by kayak and various length poles were used to probe the pond bed as part of a meticulous and extended exercise. “Our search was aided by a partner agency, whose members possess an in-depth knowledge of the ecology of the pond.”Ms Dillon-Burgess was reported missing by her mother on April 30, about two weeks before her 27th birthday.But her last known contact with anyone was on April 11.The BPS appealed again to members of the public for information on the whereabouts of Ms Dillon-Burgess, the mother of a toddler son.Mr Smith said: “We are confident there are individuals who are aware of Chavelle’s location and we once again urge you to be guided by your conscience, come forward and do the right thing.“There is also a $50,000 reward for information leading to Chavelle’s exact location.“Let’s work together to provide closure for her family and loved ones.”A police spokesman said the service was “committed to finding Chavelle and is continuing to deploy resources to this effort”.The searches include the use of Falco, a Belgian Malinois specialist body sniffer dog that was brought to the island in June.Ms Dillon-Burgess’s disappearance is being treated as a suspected murder.Stephen Corbishley, the Commissioner of Police, announced the $50,000 reward almost two months ago for information “that directly links to the finding of Chavelle”. He said then: “I truly believe that there are a number of people in the community that know where Chavelle is and they have chosen either through fear or other loyalty not to contact us with that information.”Mr Corbishley added that anyone with information that could help find Ms Dillon-Burgess should contact police on 717-0854 or 717-0864.People can also call 211 or the main police number at 295-0011.
