House: scrutiny over recruitment policies

Recruitment policies by employers will be closely monitored as part of a “next wave of changes” to immigration policy.

Home affairs minister Walton Brown told the House of Assembly other items on the agenda would be an enhancement of the musician entertainers recruitment policy and a commitment to return the processing of British Overseas Territories passports to the island.

At present, the Department of Information and Digital Technology is preparing a Request for Information to ascertain the cost of returning control of the processing of passport to the island, Mr Brown told MPs.

The public can expect further changes to immigration policies and procedures in the coming months, he added.
