Burt to address ‘Paradise Papers’ issue

A brief session is expected for today’s House of Assembly, with legislators to debate the Contributory Pensions Order.

The island’s recent turmoil in the wake of the “Paradise Papers” of leaked electronic files will be addressed by David Burt, the Premier and Minister of Finance. Walter Roban, the Deputy Premier, will offer a statement on the Bermuda Energy Summit 2017, while Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, will speak on end-of-life care.

Walton Brown, the Minister of Home Affairs, is to update MPs on progress made in drafting a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Meanwhile, Wayne Caines, the Minister of National Security, will speak on the island’s cybersecurity efforts and tourism minister Jamahl Simmons is to address gaming in Bermuda.
