Renovations at Sessions House continue in efforts to have the home of the legislature ready for the 400th anniversary of Parliament this year.Government said last September that the work included the replacement of windows as well as “health and safety upgrades” to the building.Sessions House, the seat of Parliament and the courts, was erected in 1826.In 1615, the shareholders of the Virginia Company created the Somers Isle Company to administer the island, separately from their interests on the continent.In 1620, two Parliaments, the Virginia House of Burgesses and the Bermuda House of Assembly were formed.The House of Assembly and the Senate were moved into the third floor of Veritas Place on Court Street, next door to St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, while the repairs are carried out.
