Some staff from XL Catlin will be cleaning trash on the beaches and trails along the South Shore today as part of the company’s Global Day of Giving.
Other members of the Bermuda team will be busy with other projects, including clearing shrubs, planting trees, cleaning a school for special needs students and preparing meals for seniors and families in need.
Staff at XL Catlin offices in the US, UK, China, Singapore, France and Poland will also be engaged in Global Day of Giving activities. Some 250 projects in 60 countries are expected to benefit.
Mike McGavick, chief executive officer, will be working with colleagues on a Habitat for Humanity project in Clearwater, Florida. He said: “Our Global Day of Giving is an event that we at XL Catlin look forward to every year. It’s a time for us to closely engage with the communities around us in a meaningful way that benefits all involved beyond the actual day.”
Since the inception of the Global Day of Giving in 2006, XL Catlin staff have performed almost 290,000 hours of community service through hundreds of charitable projects in various locations worldwide.
