Mike Hoffmann has joined the Everest Insurance to fill a newly created role as head of risk and ceded reinsurance. He will be based in the company’s Bermuda office.Mr Hoffman, who was formerly with Allied World Assurance, will lead a team with responsibility for all aspects of the global ceded reinsurance strategy for the company’s insurance division. In addition, he will also be responsible for risk management within the insurance division, as part of the group enterprise risk management structure.Mr Hoffman was with Allied World for 15 years, where he most recently served as global insurance chief underwriting officer. Prior to Allied World, he spent 14 years with Chubb in a variety of roles in the United States and Bermuda.Mike Mulray, chief operating officer and chief underwriting officer at Everest Insurance, said: “Talent remains core to the Everest strategy and adding someone of Mike’s calibre in such a critical role will continue to propel us forward on our mission of delivering consistent underwriting profitability.
