A group of Bermudian triathletes competed in the Arizona Ironman Triathlon at the weekend and endured mixed results and fortunes.Competing in the 35 to 39 age group, Marie-Lyne Dore finished as the highest-placed overall, crossing the line in 10hr 27min 59sec to secure 147th place overall and fourth in her age group.There was also an encouraging display from Louise Wells, who finished second in the 45 to 49 age group and 166th overall in a respectable time of 10:33:07.Christopher Eaton endured difficulties and sickness during the bike but still managed to cross the line in 12:08:11 to secure a 57th-placed finish in the 50 to 54 age group and 592nd overall.Also competing in the 45 to 49 age group, Clifford Roberts completed the course in 12:31:56, securing a 135th-place finish in his age group and 733rd overall, while in the 60 to 64 age group, Graham Fowle clinched 73rd in his age range and 2,037th overall in a time of 15:46:15.However, three Bermudian athletes had a tougher outing and did not finish. Worryingly of all Wenda Roberts suffered a pulmonary edema on the swim discipline and was taken to hospital, before being released before the end of the day.Geoff Smith suffered a recurring calf injury on the run and had to pull out at the second mile after being placed in eighth position going into the marathon, while Dianna Miranda White, who has recently returned to her native Canada, only participated in the swim.Meanwhile, Bermuda resident Kevin Ronaldson gave a strong display in his first Ironman, crossing the line in 11:27:18, for a 52nd-place finish overall in the 35 to 39 age group.
