The three titles up for grabs at the ongoing Bacardi Keelboat Regatta will be decided during today’s final day of racing in the Great Sound.Leader Kelsey Durham holds a four-point advantage over the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s Blythe Walker after five races in the International One Design fleet.Durham, who is competing under the St George’s Dinghy Club banner, has been a model of consistency as he has won all but one of the races contested so far.A further four points back in third is Bill McNiven who is representing the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club.Peter Bromby and Cheryl Harvey top the J105 leaderboard by three points after five races over nearest rivals James MacDonald and Bill Lakenmacher. Keith Chiappa and Paul Beaudin round off the top three in the J105 fleet, a further two points off the lead pace.The tightest battle that could potentially come right down to the wire is in the Etchells, the smallest of the racing fleets with four entries, where Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s Mark Watson holds a one-point advantage over clubmate John Hele five races into the series.In third, seven points further back, is Tim Patton who has placed as high in all of the races contested so far.It is anticipated that each fleet will compete in at least four races during today’s final day of the regatta, which was reduced from three to two days after Thursday’s opening day of racing was cancelled due to high winds.
