Bermuda will face Barbados in an international friendly at the National Stadium on October 28, with an 8pm kick-off. The Gombey Warriors will then face Barbados away in 2018.

The Barbados senior men’s team last visited Bermuda in June 2008. On that occasion, Bermuda were 3-0 winners, with Keishen Bean getting a brace and John-Barry Nusum, the current Under-15 and Robin Hood coach, adding the third.

“The signing of the match agreement and the scheduling of this match culminates months of talks with the Barbados FA,” Mark Wade, the Bermuda Football Association president, said. “We are pleased to be able to play hosts to Barbados and anticipate a great match.

“Bermuda and Barbados enjoy a special connection off the football field as there is a vibrant local Bajan community and Bermudians travel to Barbados to enjoy cricket and the annual Crop Over Festival. This connection will add a little spice to the match.”

Technical development director, Maurice Lowe added: “This continuous diet of international football bodes well for our preparation and showcases our hard work for the Bermuda public to enjoy.”
