LeiLanni Nesbeth, the Bermuda Under-17 striker, scored four goals to help Bede’s Senior School win the Smith Construction Independent Schools Football Association Under-18 Girls Cup Final with a 6-3 win over Alleyn’s School this week.

Bede’s travelled to Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in Berkshire for the final on Monday and emerged champions after a high-scoring contest, which saw Nesbeth in devastating form. Nesbeth, a Lower Sixth student, led the way with four while Upper Fifth pupil Leila Emmerson scored the other two.

David Byrne, director of sport and coach of the Bede’s Under-18 girls team, said: “The girls have worked incredibly hard in training and it’s fantastic to see this pay off with a well-deserved win at this high-profile tournament.

“The girls should be very proud of this amazing achievement, and we look forward to getting back on the field and training for the next match!”
