Leverock and Narva Trans out of Europa

Bermuda defender Danté Leverock

Danté Leverock’s Narva Trans suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Zeljeznicar Sarajevo in the second leg of their Europa League first-round qualifiers today.

Viktor Plotnikov gave Narva Trans the lead in the fifth minute but a 25th-minute goal from Dženan Zajmovicand a brace from Sulejman Krpi in the 29th and 82nd handed the visiting side the win.

Narva Trans, who signed Bermuda defender Leverock at the start of the season, lost 5-1 on aggregate.

Bermuda players Djair Parfitt-Williams and Zeiko Lewis will hope to see action in their respective Europe League first-round second-leg ties tomorrow.

Forward Parfitt-Williams scored in Rudar Velenje’s 7-0 win away to Tre Fiori of San Marino in their first-round qualifier last week.

Meanwhile winger Lewis was an unused substitute in FH’s 3-0 win away to Finland’s Lahti in their first-round match.

Nahki Wells’s Burnley will face Scottish outfit Aberdeen in the Europa League second-round qualifiers. The Premier League side are away to Aberdeen on July 26 before hosting the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership runners-up on August 2.
