John Barry Nusum, the Robin Hood coach, has high expectations for the club’s new additions who have joined the Premier Division side during Bermuda Football Association’s transfer window, which expired yesterday.

Hood, the FA Cup champions, have signed midfielder Justin Corday from Somerset Trojans, forward Chae Brangman from Devonshire Cougars, midfielder London Roberts and defender Ashton Bell both from BAA.

“It’s been a really productive off season,” Nusum said.

“We got three positions in particular that we were looking to make adjustments with,” Nusum said.

Nusum said the signing of Brangman will give him another option up front, particularly with Antwan Russell becoming a player-coach.

“We were definitely looking to get another striker in and Chae is a dream signing for us,” Nusum added.

“With Antwan Russell becoming player-coach, having Chae fill in that role is perfect and is almost a seamless transition.

“Justin is one of those players I’ve looked at for a few years now and his quality is just top. The production we are going to get from midfield with him and London being a part of that group ... it just gives us more depth as well.

“[These signings] give us a little bit more quality and the depth that we have been looking for ahead of the new season.

“It’s going to be a good season and a lot of competition for positions, and that’s kind of what we want because it makes everyone play at their best level.”

Corday admits it was difficult leaving his boyhood club Trojans.

“It wasn’t easy to leave Somerset; that’s family and always will be,” he said. “But I’m here now and ready to start this new challenge.”

Brangman is also up for a fresh start after leaving Cougars.

“I’m definitely excited and looking forward to the new challenges,” Brangman said.

Meanwhile Roberts added: “Hood are already a talented team and we are just trying to add to it.” Bell was unavailable for comment yesterday.

Steven Simons, the Hood president, said all four signings “ticked the right boxes”.

“We are really excited and these are guys we have been looking at for quite a while,” Simons added. “We look for a certain type of player at Robin Hood.”
