PHC and Hood to meet in curtain-raiser

FA Cup winners Robin Hood will face PHC Zebras in the Charity Cup on Friday, August 30

The Charity Cup, the annual season curtain-raiser, will be contested between PHC Zebras and Robin Hood at a venue yet to be confirmed next Friday at 8pm.

PHC claimed a record eleventh league title last season, finishing four points ahead of second-place Robin Hood, who won a second straight FA Cup after defeating X-Roads 3-2 at the National Stadium.

The match will be Robert Bean’s first in charge as PHC’s coach after replacing Scott Morton, who stepped down in the summer to concentrate on his role as a Bermuda assistant coach.

Morton won seven trophies during his three seasons at the helm.

The Dudley Eve Trophy will swing into action three days after the Charity Cup, with Devonshire Cougars facing Boulevard in group B at 3pm and Dandy Town taking on X-Roads in group A at 5pm on Monday, September 2.

There will then be a two-week domestic break while Bermuda play Panama twice in League A of the Concacaf Nations League. The home match will be held at the National Stadium on Thursday, September 5 and the away game on Sunday, September 8.

On Sunday, September 15, the Dudley Eve will resume with Dandy Town meeting PHC at 3pm in group A and Hood taking on Cougars at 5pm in group B. The final round of group games will be held on Wednesday, September 25 between Hood and Boulevard at 7pm in group B and PHC and X-Roads at 9pm in group A.

The semi-finals will be held on Wednesday, October 30 and the final is to be staged on Sunday, November 10.

No venues have yet been confirmed for the Dudley Eve.

The first round of the Premier and First Division will take place on Sunday, September 22.
