PHC Zebras will begin their Friendship Trophy title defence against Robin Hood who beat them heavily in their previous meeting.The Premier Division rivals lock horns for the second time in three weeks in a quarter-final at PHC Field on Sunday.Hood thrashed PHC 6-0 in the league in their previous visit to PHC Field on November 24 and will go into the tie as firm favourites.However, PHC captain Cecoy Robinson says his team-mates have put their humbling defeat behind them and made the necessary adjustments.“The loss happened, we talked about it, rectified a few things and that game is behind us,” Robinson said. “We’re feeling good and are just going to put our heads down and try and get the job done. As long as we stay humble, stay level-headed and focused on the task at hand then we should be OK.”The match will be a repeat of the Friendship Trophy semi-final last season, which PHC won 1-0 en route to clinching a record twelfth title.Even though his team are favourites, John Barry Nusum, the Hood coach, insists his side will not be taking PHC lightly.“I don’t think PHC are going to be the same team as they were that game, at least mentally,” Nusum said. “They are definitely going to come a little bit harder and we have to make sure we combat that.“We can take a little bit of confidence from it, but for the most part we have to make sure that we do the job and work as hard as we did in the last game. “The last game was probably one of our hardest working games, as far as the things we did off the ball, and we just have to continue that. We’re hoping to come in with the same mindset and same energy.The other quarter-finals will pit Dandy Town away to Somerset Eagles at White Hill Field, while Southampton Rangers are at home to X-Roads at Southampton Oval. The Devonshire Cougars are at home to Somerset Trojans. All matches begin at 2.30pm.The First Division Shield quarter-finals will also be held this weekend. Flanagan’s Onions will face Young Men’s Social Club at Goose Gosling Field tomorrow at 9pm.In Sunday’s matches, Wolves face St David’s at Southampton Oval, Vasco take on Ireland Rangers at White Hill Field, while Devonshire Colts play St George’s at PHC Field. All matches begin at 12pm.
