Danté Leverock is set for the next chapter of his football journey after signing for Polish second-tier side Radomiak Radom until the end of the season.The Bermuda captain has been exploring his options since leaving Irish top-flight team Sligo Rovers last summer and has joined up with his new team-mates during their winter break in Italy.Radomiak are fourth in the table this term, with 36 points from 20 matches, and Leverock is confident he can adapt quickly to a different culture and style of play and help them in their promotion bid.“Radomiak expressed an interest in me and things moved quickly to complete the deal,” the defender told The Royal Gazette.“They’re an ambitious team and get thousands of fans for each game. They are currently building a new stadium that is very attractive.“Poland has a good level of football and I’m excited to test myself. I’m confident I can adapt to any style of football.“I’m just focused on getting fit and helping the team finish the season strong by winning as many games as possible.”The 27-year-old has already experienced playing professionally or semi-professionally in several countries, including the United States, England, Estonia and Ireland.He hopes his willingness to venture farther afield in pursuit of his football dreams will inspire the next generation of Bermudian players. In recent years, several players have plied their trade in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, with Willie Clemons enjoying plenty of success in Sweden at Bodens before joining Dalkurd, Roger Lee having a stint Tallinna Kalev in Estonia, William White spending a season with Narpes Kraft in Finland, and Zeiko Lewis playing for FH and HK in Iceland.“I’m always open to play anywhere around the world and experiencing different styles of football,” Leverock added. “Learning new ways of life is something that excites me. “I hope to set a trend especially for Bermudian players to broaden their horizons and test their skills all over the world. “I’ve been lucky enough to have a great support system that gives me confidence to step outside my comfort zone.”Leverock is well aware of the ugly history of racism in Polish football and admits it is something he has already had to endure during his time playing in Europe. “Of course, that’s something you always have to think about, no matter where in the world you play football,” Leverock said. “However, I never shy away from a challenge or adversity and I’ve played in Europe before, so it’s something I’m used to.”* Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott was an unused substitute in AFC Wimbledon’s 2-1 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.Midfielder Reggie Lambe was also an unused substitute in Cambridge United’s 1-0 win away to Newport County.Meanwhile, in the Vanarama National League Justin Donawa came on in the 69th minute in Darlington’s 1-1 draw away to Kidderminster Harriers. The forward picked up a yellow card in the 80th minute. Midfielder Milan Butterfield played the full match for Harriers.
