Ready to go: Devwah Whaley will play after a “disagreement” (Photograph by Gareth Patterson/AP)

Devwah Whaley has been cleared to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks against Texas A&M in Dallas today after what head coach Bret Bielema called a “disagreement” with a team-mate this week.

It had been reported in the United States that the Bermudian running back had been involved in a fight with Brandon Martin, the wide receiver.

“He’s ready to play,” Bielema told the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. “How many times are 21-year-olds in a disagreement? Devwah is excited to play in the game.”

The Razorbacks face the Aggies in their first Southeastern Conference clash of the season at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium this afternoon, keen to rebound from a 28-7 loss to Texas Christian two weeks ago.

“I don’t need Superman to show up,” Bielema said. “I don’t need someone to play at a level higher than they’ve ever played at. I just need them to play [like] what I’ve seen them do during the course of the week and that will lead to good results.”

Arkansas have lost all five of their SEC games against the Aggies and have failed to score in the second half in three of their past four games.

However, Texas A&M have struggled as well, infamously blowing a 34-point lead to UCLA in their opening game of the campaign.

“We don’t need a guy to go out there and do this and that and do everything,” Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw said. “We just need everybody to do their jobs.”
