Team in hunt for medals in California

Garon Wilkinson and Kaelin Cox won medals for Bermuda at the championships two years ago

Bermuda will be aiming for success when they compete at the third Pan American Kung fu Championships in San Jose, California, from July 12 to 14.

The team consists of Garon Wilkinson, Kaelin Cox, Talia Iris, Kent Bean Jr and Kentaro Bean will be competing in various disciplines including, Northern open hand form, flexible weapon, two-man fighting set, Southern open hand form, long weapon, short weapon, Taiji open hand and Taiji straight sword.

This is the second time that Bermuda has competed in the championships.

Wilkinson and Cox won gold for Bermuda at second Pan American Kung Fu and Taijiquan Championships in Costa Rica two years ago in two-man fighting set defeating Brazil and the United States.

Cox also claimed gold in Southern open hand form and a bronze in the long weapon division. Wilkinson also claimed gold in flexible weapon.
