Swimmers add to medal tally

Bermuda’s combined teams added to their medal tally on day three of the Carifta Swimming Championships in Barbados.

The Daley siblings, Elijah and Elan, won five medals between them, while Sam Williamson also claimed a further three of his own.

Elan clinched gold in the girls 13-14 200 metres individual medley in a winning time of 2:25.26, before adding a silver medal in the girls 13-14 100 freestyle in 58.00, eleven-hundredths of a second off gold.

There was also golden joy for her brother, Elijah, in the boys 11-12 200 butterfly in a blistering time of 2:27.13, more than six seconds ahead of his rivals

He also added a silver in the boys 11-12 200 individual medley in 2:27.64 and another as part of the Bermuda-Associated Group, or BERAG, in the mixed 11-12 4x100 relay alongside Brandon Adkins, Bella Howes and Giada Dudley-Pun in of 4.14.27.

Williamson claimed silver in the boys 13-14 200 individual medley in 2:17.16 and in the boys 13-14 50 breaststroke in 31.52, while also claiming bronze in boys 13-14 100 freestyle in 55.74.

As well as her relay silver, Dudley-Pun added another silver in the girls 11-12 200 individual medley in 2:37.52, with compatriot Imojen Judd claiming bronze in 2:41.34.

The results bring Bermuda’s combined teams tally to 26 medals overall.
