Daniel Phillips has won the first four games of the VLTC Euro Under-14 tennis tournament in Paola, Malta.

Bermudian Phillips, who attends the Rafa Nadal Academy in Majorca, beat Samuel Melaga, Slovakia, 6-1, 6-3, defeated Grigory Mikryukov, Russia, 6-3, 6-2 on the opening day of the main draw yesterday.

Today, he overcame Aleksandar Daskalovic, of Serbia, 6-0, 1-6, 6-2 before beating Andreas Timini, of Cyprus, 7-5, 6-4.

Phillips will tomorrow take Italians Gabriele Vulpitta and Michele Lo Furno.
